here's to love

So here it is...Valentine's Day. Roses, Carnations, Candy, Jewelry, Kisses, Hugs, Boyfriends, Girlfriends; it's enough to make a single person throw up!!! Every single person in America right now is probably making their stomachs sick with too much chocolate; wishing THEY had someone to share today with. I remember when I was single. Truthfully??? I actually enjoed not being tied down by a guy. I liked my freedom of being able to do what ever I wanted...hang out with all my guy friends(I don't do that much any more), and stay out with my girls without worrying if a phone call is going to come through wondering where I am, and it's not my parents. I wasn't really sad or lonely on Valentine's Day or any day for that matter; I was quite happy as a clam.

I believe that every girl wants to share this day with someone. Girls want to be told that they are beautiful and exeptionally kind and caring, but some of us don't get that. Is being single all that's craked up to be? Or does it have some positive aspects to it?

When I did get lonely during my single years, I kept reminding myself of one thing...that Jesus loves me. He is the One valentine who always tells me I'm beautiful by blowing soft breezes through my hair, kissing my face with the bright sunshine, greeting my bare feet with soft lush grasses, tickling my toes with sand at the beach; Jesus tells me I'm beautiful in more creative ways that guys would never even think of. And He never abandons me when things get rough. He never "dumps" me when I'm having a hard time. In fact He stays with me right until the very bitter end.

I understand how you single girls and women feel, I was one of you for the longest eighteen years of my life. As long as you remember that Jesus loves no matter what happens to you or what you've done, nothing can go wrong. He will never get mad at you because you "cheated" on Him with another dude. Jesus loves you and all the rest of us the same. And while most guys show their love for a girl by kisses and hugs and lots of nice expensive things, Jesus showed us how much He loves us by dying for us. He is my definition of Love: a cross and three nails. That is True Love.

So Happy Valentine's Day and remember that it doesn't matter if you're single on this day or any other day, Jesus loves you very much. And He will always take of you.
